With over 40 years of experience in commercial banking, he began his career as a Teller at Southeast Bank and rose to Commercial Lending Officer. He later joined SunTrust, where he successfully resolved a distressed loan portfolio and advanced to Senior Vice President & Senior Lending Officer, overseeing residential and commercial lending, real estate, construction lending, and loan operations. He continued in senior leadership roles at First National Bank of Florida (selling to Colonial Bank), helping double the bank’s size prior to its sale. In 1999 he served as Organizing Director, President, and Senior Lending Officer at Southern Community Bank, which was ultimately acquired by Fifth Third Bank, where he became Chief Credit Officer for the State of Florida.
After a period in consulting, he joined CNL Bank in 2006 as Organizing Director, President, and Senior Lending Officer, later becoming Executive Vice President for Southwest Florida and, following its sale to Valley Bank, Market Executive for the region.
Since 2022, he has served as Senior Vice President at Meridian Bank, leading its expansion into Florida and originating over $200 million in new loans in the past three years.
